Description

This class will explore a wide variety of topics starting with an overview of Canada’s physical and political geography, then deal with Canada’s history, starting with the founding of Canada in the 17th century by the French. We’ll then discuss some other parts of Canadian history: e.g., The French and Indian War, The American Revolution, The War of 1812, Louis Riel’s Revolt int he 1800s, the formation of first quasi-independent and then independent Canada and Canada’s role in World Wars I and II before moving on to modern Canada, the historic relationship between Euro-Canadians and First Peoples, and the structure of the Canadian government.
