Description
After the failure of the Articles of Confederation, prominent Americans like George Washington, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton felt it was necessary to create a strong federal government. The Constitutional Convention was held from May to September in 1787. After four months and 600 compromises, the fifty-five delegates came up with a new form of government.
