For 800 years, the Moors, an Islamic people, ruled part of the Iberian Peninsula. The Alhambra, the residence of the Moorish monarchs who used to rule this part of Spain, the Great Mosque in Cordoba, and the Giralda in Seville are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This program will explore the Moors who inhabited Spain and the rich legacy that became a part of European culture.
