Description

This lecture delves into the life and times of the enigmatic and devastatingly charismatic Gregory Rasputin, the Mad Monk, whose influence at the Russian Imperial court was such that without his presence the 1917 Russian Revolution might not have occurred. Many historians blame the Revolution on the socioeconomic conditions; others point an accusing finger at Russia’s corrupt political system. All seem to agree that of the several key personalities who influenced the direction and depth of the revolution, none compare with Rasputin.
