Description

In this class we’ll discuss a variety of entertaining and/or thought-provoking short fiction. In addition to revisiting a few classic short stories, we’ll also sample more recent works in several genres, from the intense, saga-like stories of Alice Munro to the unusual flash fiction of Lydia Davis, with some other fascinating new forms as well. After a very brief introduction to the author, the form, or the context or each piece, participants can discuss how the story affected them–like in a book group, but the fiction is short, and all stories will be available for free online.
