Description

As late as December 1943, D-Day was to be a North American affair, with First US Army in the lead followed by First Canadian Army.  But it didn’t go that way!  In this class you’ll learn about the critical role the First Canadian Army – and not George Patton – played in the initial D-Day deception operations.  You’ll also learn about the Third Canadian Division, the most powerful Allied formation to land on June 6, 1944, whose mission was to kill the Panzer counter-attack designed to destroy the Allies.
