Description

Do you know that disabled persons are guaranteed fundamental rights under both American and International law? This lecture introduces participants to the basic principles of the  Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Additionally, the lecture will explore the evolution of the disability rights movement that made these legal frameworks possible. Before the lecture, it is recommended that you watch the film ‘Crip Camp’ (Netflix) or ‘Peanut Butter Falcon’ (Amazon Prime), if possible.
