Description

The territory of the Vikings began in Scandinavia and quickly spread to Western Europe and beyond during what has come to be known as the Viking Age. One of the reasons for the successful domination of lands by these strong and resourceful people was their superior shipbuilding industry. Viking long-ships made it possible to cross the North Sea and navigate Europe’s many rivers making it seem they could appear out of nowhere, or bypass hostile land forces. That and many other interesting factors led to over three hundred years of Viking power and glory.
