Description

Our knowledge of the universe continues to expand in leaps and bounds. The James Webb Space Telescope is beaming the crispest and deepest pictures of the cosmos to Earth that people have ever seen. Gravitational-wave observatories are seeing the ripples in space from dozens of black holes hitting each other. Scientists at Syracuse University are designing the next generation of gravitational-wave telescopes, which will see every black hole collision in the universe. Prof. Duncan Brown will explain astronomy’s recent discoveries that are shedding new light on the mysteries of the cosmos. While a leading researcher in his field, Prof. Brown is also an educator and this class is aimed at a general audience of non-scientists.
