Description

San Diego County was the first Pacific coast site visited by Europeans. In 1850 it was larger than Indiana. It contains more ecological zones, has recorded more bird species, and has more Indian reservations than any other county in the country. Earlier in our history we had the highest dam and the world’s most powerful telescope. This informative slide show illustrates why San Diego is America’s most unique county. Our instructor, Dr. Philip Pryde,  is the author of San Diego: An Introduction To The Region.
